our mission
I AM Yoga believes yoga can help in more than one way. In addition to the physical benefits of yoga, such as lowering heart disease and stress levels, yoga provides support for mental health. Our mission is to continue to evolve with the research that is being done on yoga while honoring the roots of yoga philosophy. While maintaining the rich history of vinyasa yoga, I AM Yoga has developed yoga class formats using an evidence-based methodology. Our instructors attend regular trainings to ensure consistency and high-quality experiences in every single class.
I AM Yoga is an inclusive and trauma-informed community where safety and autonomy are extremely important. In addition, all of our public yoga classes are available online through live streaming access. Yoga has come a long way to find a place in Tulsa, OK and we are grateful to all of those who have worked tirelessly to share the wisdom of yoga with us and allow this beautiful practice to exist in our community.
our history
We started as a yoga festival in Tulsa, OK in the fall of 2011. Through many years, trials, and normal life stuff we are now a sustainable and dedicated community to providing a safe, open, space for all who would like to experience the benefits of a regular and steady yoga practice. The I AM Yoga community is full of kind, compassionate, and loving people. We are fortunate to have found a little pocket in the midwest with a focus on creating an atmosphere where everyone can find a practice that works best for the season of life that they are in.
After hosting our first yoga festival in 2011, we were dedicated to finding creative ways to bring more yoga to Tulsa. We continued hosting an annual yoga festival but also did so much more! We hosted art events (The Drunken Artist —- oh so much fun), outdoor yoga beginning in 2012, yoga workshops and retreats endlessly, and have now opened two yoga studios. In 2018, we hosted our first Yoga Teacher Training and currently offer training sessions and workshops throughout the year.
